Accessibility Statement
Boater's Life is committed to making our website usable by everyone, regardless of ability or technology.
Our commitment
We aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This means our site is being built and improved to be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for as wide an audience as possible.
What we do
- Use semantic HTML so screen readers can navigate the page logically.
- Provide visible focus states on all interactive elements (links, buttons, form fields).
- Maintain sufficient colour contrast between text and backgrounds.
- Add descriptive alt text to product and content images.
- Keep the site keyboard-navigable — you can use Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter and Space without a mouse.
- Test our pages on common screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) and with browser zoom up to 200%.
Known limitations
We're actively improving accessibility across the site. A few areas we're currently working on:
- Adding ARIA labels to a small number of legacy theme widgets.
- Improving focus-trap behaviour inside modal dialogs (cart, search, community popups).
- Refining colour contrast on a few promotional banners.
Tell us what we can do better
If something on this site doesn't work for you, or if you have suggestions on how we can do better, please contact us. We read every message and prioritise accessibility-related fixes.
Assistive technology compatibility
Boater's Life is tested to work with the latest two versions of the major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and the screen readers listed above. If you use a different combination and run into issues, please let us know — that information helps us prioritise fixes.
